The Madiwala police have arrested a 30-year-old cab driver attached to Uber on Thursday for allegedly misbehaving with a woman passenger near HSR Layout 7th stage last Tuesday.

The accused Suresh, a resident of Nandini Layout, was tracked down based on a mobile number provided by the victim in her complaint. The police said Suresh was working for Uber for the last one-and-half months.

Last Tuesday, he reportedly misbehaved with a woman passenger and later apologised after the victim raised objections.

However, during questioning, Suresh refuted the allegation and stated that he had an argument with the victim over service charge. However, the victim, in her complaint, alleged that Suresh was masturbating while she was on board. She stated that after reaching home, she warned the driver of filing a complaint, following which Suresh apologised and sped away.

The Madiwala police have booked Suresh for outraging the modesty and woman. He has now been remanded to judicial custody.
