Two-day bank strike from tomorrow

Banking services are likely to be affected on Wednesday and Thursday, as the United Forum of Bank Unions have called for a strike urging the government to stop banking sector reforms and also outsourcing of banking jobs. A release said services will be affected in both public and private sector branches with nearly 10 lakh officers across all banks in the country participating in the strike. A demonstration will also be staged in Bangalore and other centres. The UFBU-Karnataka State committee will hold a massive rally in front of State Bank of Mysore Head Office on Kempegowda Road, the release said.
