Two women were found murdered in different parts of the city on Wednesday. The police suspect that the assailants had sexually assaulted both the victims before killing them in a brutal way.

An unidentified woman aged around 38 was found murdered in a vacant site near BDA complex in Koramangala. The incident came to light when passersby noticed the body and informed the police.

The Koramangala police found that the assailants had filled her mouth with mud before gagging her and strangling her to death.

“The post-mortem examination will reveal whether she was sexually assaulted or not,” the Koramangala police said, adding that they have registered a case of murder and are investigating.

The police have found a tattoo on her hand based on which they are trying to ascertain her identity. “We are checking the missing complaints to match the profile of the woman and are enquiring with the people in and around the area to ascertain her identity,” a police official said.

In another incident, a 45-year-old woman, working as dish washer in a bakery, was found murdered near her house in Taverekere near Madiwala on Tuesday.

The victim’s disrobed body was found near her house with her head crushed under a stone.

According to the police, the victim was returning home after getting her salary.

The assailants are suspected to have sexually assaulted her before bludgeoning her to death, the police said.

Senior police officers who rushed to the spot and conducted investigations found that the body had multiple injuries. The body has been sent to Victoria hospital for post-mortem while the police are waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain the motive.
