Translated works of U.N. Goshal’s “Contribution to the History of Hindu Revenue System” and Surendranath Sen’s “Administrative System of the Marathas (2 volumes) into Kannada were released here on Sunday.

While Goshal’s work has been translated by Jayawant Kulli, Sen’s work has been translated by R.L. Anantharamaiah. The translated works have been published by the Indian Council for Historical Research in association with K.S. Muddappa Memorial Trust. Speaking here after releasing the books, ICHR member B. Surendra Rao said that the council had published many classics, but unfortunately the translations of such works were taken up years after they are first published. “Many of these classics are not widely read, but quotes from these works are often used. It is unfortunate that that many of these are used only for quotations,” Prof. Rao said.

Deputy Director of ICHR S.K. Aruni and Secretary of K.S. Muddappa Memorial Trust M. Bhyregowda were among those present.
