Sleuths of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) have rescued two minor girls who had been allegedly lured by a woman promising decent jobs, but forced into prostitution.

While one of the victims is a first year PU student, the other, a school drop-out, is aged about 14, the police said.

Based on a tip-off, a team posing as customers approached Vishalakshi, the main accused, who reportedly runs a brothel, over the phone and later reached a house in Kengeri Satellite town, where the girls were housed, and rescued them.

Upon enquiry, it was revealed that the girls were from a poor family background and Vishalakshi had lured them by promising decent jobs.

The girls were brought to a rented house in Kengeri Satellite town a fortnight ago and allegedly raped by her associates to blackmail them. Since then the duo was locked up in the house and forced to entertain clients , said police sources.

With the help of BOSCO child helpline staff, the rescued children were referred to government home for girls. The police later trapped Vishalakshi near the central prison in Parappana Agrahara where she had gone to meet her boyfriend.

She has been booked for kidnapping, rape and under Section 17 of protection of children from sexual offences and remanded in judicial custody.
