Two held for stealing idol

The Pulakeshi Nagar police have arrested two persons, including a minor, who had stolen a Panchaloha idol, three mangalsutras and donation box from a temple near Cox Town.

The arrested duo — Manoj Kumar (19) and a 14-year-old minor — are residents of Jeevanahalli. The police have recovered a 10 kg Panchaloha idol and the mangalsutras.

The duo had broke into the temple and stolen the idol, mangalsutras and donation box. The theft came to light the next day when the priest went to the temple. Local residents suspected Kumar, who was seen moving around the temple suspiciously, said the police.
