Two habitual offenders booked under Goonda Act

The North Division police have booked two habitual offenders under the Gonda Act for setting seven vehicles on fire in Mahalakshmi Layout and Basaveshwara Nagar, which were parked outside the respective houses.

According to the police, the accused Purushotham (22) and Sampat Rao (23) have over half a dozen criminal cases including murder, attempt-to-murder and robberies registered in various police stations across the city.

The accused would set fire to the vehicles parked outside the houses for fun. They were involved in similar crime in 2012, the police said.
