January 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:31 am IST - Bengaluru:

Lokayukta sleuths on Tuesday raided Mico Layout police station and trapped two constables red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a saloon owner.

Head constable Shivamadu and constable Shivakumar were arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Inspector Manjunath was also booked, but is yet to be arrested. According to Lokayukta officers, the trio raided Parlour Fashion Express in Mico Layout and “foisted a false case” stating that the saloon was running a prostitution racket. The trio allegedly destroyed CCTV footage and demanded Rs. 2 lakh from the owner, Anand Kumar, to drop the case. Kumar approached the Lokayukta.
