Two boys aged 14 and 17 years are feared drowned in a lake inside Palace Grounds here after they went fishing along with their friends on Sunday.
The incident came to light on Monday when one of the boys informed his parents on Monday, following which they approached the High Grounds police.The police, with the help of a Fire and Emergency Services rescue team launched a massive search for the missing boysbut were not be able to locate them till Monday evening.
According to the police, eight boys went fishing to the lake on Sunday morning However, Ramesh (14) and Manirathnam (17) strayed to the other side of the lake . Both of them did not know to swim and are feared to have drowned.
The High Grounds police have taken up a case and are investigating.
