The Subramanyapura police busted a human trafficking racket by arresting two Bangladeshi nationals who allegedly lured girls promising jobs but forced them into prostitution.
The police were tipped off that girls from Bangladesh and the northeast region were forced to work as call girls in Kumaraswamy Layout and Banasawadi police station limits.
The police raided some places and rescued 11 girls, including two from Bangladesh, six from Kolkata, two each from Assam and Andhra Pradesh and arrested Mohammed Zia, (30), native of Muraheen district, Sharieff Mir (24) of Kulla district — both in Bangladesh — and Rajendra (40) from Kumaraswamy Layout, who helped them run the racket.
The two used to bring the victims, from lower middleclass families, to Bangalore and force them into prostitution by intimidation and blackmail, the police said.
A case has been registered. Investigation is on.

The Narcotics wing of the Central Crime Branch officials arrested Gangondahalli resident Nasir Khan (46) and seized 700 grams of marijuana estimated at Rs. 20,000 from him.
