The Godavari tunnel boring machine (TBM) reached Majestic metro station on Tuesday morning, thus completing its journey which began from Sampige Road in 2013. The machine has drilled a total of 973 metres and completed the link between Nagasandra station in the north and Majestic station.

City Development Minister K.J. George, who was present at Majestic as Godvari broke through, said the North-South line of Namma Metro could open soon with the link to Majestic station complete.

On the upcoming launch of the East-West corridor, the Minister said Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. was making last-minute safety inspections to ensure passengers’ safety.
