Four injured as tree branch falls on autorickshaw

Four people, including two girls, sustained injuries when a massive tree branch fell on the autorikshaw in which they were travelling near Cauvery Junction on Tuesday night.

Aysha, who is around three years old, her sister Alia, 5, and autorickshaw driver Allabhaksh were admitted to a private hospital. Aysha’s condition is said to be serious.

According to the police, the two girls, along with their father Abdul Azeem and uncle Abdul Nayeem, were heading home to Wilson Garden from Yeshwanthpur.

A two-wheeler rider, who was behind the autorickshaw, also sustained injuries to his head. He was taken to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences.

The Sadashivanagar traffic police, with the help of Fire and Emergency Services personnel, cleared the branch and restored traffic movement on the road.
