Traffic snarls in city centre

March 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - Bengaluru:

Three major protest rallies in the core areas put traffic out of gear on Saturday.

Thousands of activists of the Bahujan Vidyarthi Sangha walked from city railway station to Freedom Park demanding schemes for students in the Union budget. The protest rally went through Anandrao Circle flyover. This hampered traffic on the flyover and the all-important Seshadri Road. Around the same time, thousands of anganwadi workers also took out a protest rally on the same route.

A rally was taken out by the Lingayat Dharma Mahasabha, from Town Hall to Freedom Park, demanding the status of a dharma for the community. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-East) M.N. Babu Rajendra Prasad said they did their best by diverting traffic to other alternative routes.
