After cracking the whip on erring autorikshaw drivers, the city traffic police have trained their guns on motorcyclists.
The police have booked over 2,000 cases against the motorcyclists during a special drive on Monday.
Most of the riders were not wearing helmets. They have also been booked for riding without valid documents and for rash and negligent driving adding that the violators have not only been slapped with hefty fines but the driving licenses have also been impounded, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajendra Prasad said.
