Traffic movement on Mysuru road was disrupted on Sunday morning as additional buses were deployed to beat the weekend rush.

According to the police, as many as 400 additional buses were plying on the road along with taxis and private vehicles on the stretch. The problem was aggravated due to the ongoing metro rail work from RR nagar to Kengeri.

Since vehicles were slowing down at satellite bus stand, vehicles coming towards Mysuru Road were caught in a massive traffic jam till town hall.

Traffic movement had slowed down since Saturday due to a four-day holiday. This will persist till Monday as normal day-to-day traffic would return to the city, said a senior police officer.

Though additional traffic policemen had been deployed on the stretch to monitor traffic, it was of little help as it took motorists over an hour to cross the road between RR nagar to Kengeri.
