Toddler knocked down by water tanker

A one-year-old child died when a water tanker knocked him down in Frazer Town on Wednesday.

The victim, Rishi, was the son of Prabhakaran and Shobha, construction labourers and residents of Govindarapura area. According to the police, Shobha was busy collecting water from the tanker when Rishi, who slipped out of his house, was knocked down by the vehicle and sustained severe head injuries.

Neighbours rushed the child to Dr Ambedkar Medical College and later shifted him to Manipal hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The Frazer town police have registered a case.
