Toddler crushed by lorry

Three persons, including a two-year-old, were killed in separate accidents in the city on Wednesday.

Two-year-old Kumar was killed on the spot when he came under a cement-laden lorry in HSR Layout.

He was living with his parents in a shed adjacent to a godown belonging to a cement company, where his father Durgappa worked as watchman. The family hailed from Lingasugur in Raichur district.

Police said that Kumar was playing outside the shed while his father was helping load the cement. The lorry driver reversed the vehicle without noticing the child’s presence. The boy was instantly killed.

The driver fled, leaving the vehicle behind.

The Madiwala traffic police have taken up a case and are investigating.

Knocked down

In another incident, a security guard was killed on the spot when a private bus knocked him down on Kunigal main road near Nelamangala. Bore Gowda (32), employed by a private security firm, was deputed at the Kunigal road toll-gate to manage traffic. The driver of the bus that knocked him down sped away.

The Nelamangala police are investigating.

A cab driver was killed after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed near M.S. Ramaiah hospital junction.

Devendra (21), a resident of Vyalikaval, was returning home when the accident occurred. The R.T. Nagar police are investigating.
