A day after the Cabinet decided to supersede the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) council, the State government appointed senior IAS official T.M. Vijay Bhaskar as the administrator of the civic body.
The government superseded the BBMP council based on the report submitted by senior IAS officer Rajendra Kumar Kataria on irregularities in the civic body over the past five years. Though the term of the BBMP council would have ended on April 22, the Cabinet decided to supersede the council.
