The Bangalore police have made arrangements for the security and parking of vehicles for those taking part in the Independence Day celebrations at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will be participating in the event.
“We will be deploying about 5,000 personnel exclusively for the security at the Parade Ground,” Police Commissioner Shankar M. Bidari said.
Banned
Nobody, including invitees, is permitted to take to the ground mobile phones, cameras, radio, umbrella and any equipment. All are requested to be seated before 8.30 a.m.
Invitees with yellow car passes will have to enter the Gate No.1 of the ground and park on the western side. Those with white car passes and vehicles of secretaries to the Government, military officers, police officers, etc., have to enter the ground from the Military Supply Depot side on Cubbon Road. Those with pink pass should park their at the B.R.V. Police Parade Ground and green car passes, in the parking lot on Kamaraj Road and Main Guard Cross Road.
Two-wheelers should be parked on the northern side of the Kamaraj Road and their owners can enter the ground through Gate No.3. Those who don't have car passes can park on Kamaraj Road and enter from the Gate No.3.
Traffic diversion
Traffic between BRV Junction and Kamaraj Road-Cubbon Road Junction will be diverted between 8.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.
Vehicles coming from CTO Circle towards Manipal Centre on Cubbon Road may turn left on Central Street at the BRV Junction and then to the Central Street, Bhagwan Mahaveer Road, Safina Plaza, Main Guard Road, Allies Circle, Dispensary Road, Kamaraj Road, Dickenson Road and Cubbon Road.
Those bound for the CTO Junction from Manipal Junction should have to pass through Kamaraj Road, Cauvery Arts and Crafts Circle, M.G. Road, Anil Kumble Circle and BRV Junction. Those going to Cubbon Road from Anil Kumble Circle have to go via Central Street, Bhagwan Mahaveer Road, Safina Plaza, Main Guard Road, Allies Circle, Dispensary Road, Kamaraj Road, Dickenson Road, and Cubbon Road.
