A three-year-old boy was killed on the spot and his parents injured when the motorcycle on which they were riding rammed a bus near Jakkur aerodrome.

On Thursday, Ramamurthy, Sunita and their son Likhith Gowda, residents of Shettihalli in Doddajala, were on their way to Sanjaynagar, when a BMTC bus in front of them stopped suddenly. Ramamurthy lost control of his vehicle and rammed the bus. Likith, who was sitting on the fuel tank of the motorcycle, fell on the road and sustained serious head injuries.

He was rushed to Columbia Asia hospital, where he died. His parents were treated for their injuries and discharged.

According to the Yelahanka traffic police, the bus driver had stopped the bus in the wrong place, leading to the accident.

A case of death due to negligence has been booked against the driver and the bus seized.

Student knocked down

A student was killed on the spot when a car knocked him down in Malleswaram on Friday.

Kaushik (20), a resident of Dollars’ Colony, was a first year B.Com student in M.S. Ramaiah College.

Kaushik was on his motorcycle on his way to meet friends when the car hit his vehicle. The impact was such that his helmet was thrown off and he sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to K.C. General Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The car driver fled leaving the car behind. The Malleswaram traffic police have seized the car and are looking for the driver.

Senior citizen killed

A senior citizen was killed when a speeding car knocked his scooter down near Gandhi Bazaar in Basavanagudi on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Trivikrama (79), a retired KSRTC employee, was a resident of Banashankari II Stage.

He was thrown a few yards from the scooter by to the impact, leading to severe head injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died. The Basavanagudi traffic police have taken up a case.
