The Women and Narcotics squad of the City Crime Branch police raided a high-end apartment in Indiranagar in Bengaluru on Sunday and rescued three women from a prostitution racket.

The women from West Bengal have been sent for rehabilitation. Surprisingly one of these young women had been rescued in a raid only two days earlier, according to the police who are cracking down on trafficking of women.

The police are looking for those who brought the women into the State and are involving the Department of Women & Children to prevent them from slipping back into flesh trade, according to Joint Commissioner (Crime) Hemanth Nimbalkar.

The main trafficker, Kumar alias Praveen alias Sanjay, had taken up the three-room apartment on rent and found customers through mobile phones and free messaging application Whatsapp. He is said to be absconding.
