Three persons, including a Nigerian national, were held for peddling drugs in the city in two separate cases recently.

Acting on a tip-off that a Nigerian national was peddling drugs on Old Madras Road, next to a petrol bunk, sleuths from the Central Crime Branch’s Women and Narcotics Wing conducted a surprise raid and arrested him. The Nigerian national was identified as 25-year-old Dane Anikwe Uduaka, hailing from Anambra city, Nigeria. Police have recovered five grams of cocaine worth Rs. 50,000, apart from a two wheeler from him. Investigations have now revealed that Dane bought cocaine from his friend from New Delhi and was selling it in smaller packets in the city.

In another case, two men hailing from Andhra Pradesh were arrested after they were caught red-handed selling ganja in K.R. Puram recently. The arrested - Srinivasa Rao (30) and Veeraiah (29) - hail from Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh and are residents of Munekolalu in the city. Cops have seized Rs. 1 lakh worth seven kilos of ganja from them. Preliminary probe has revealed that the duo had bought ganja from Vishakhapatnam and were selling each small packet for Rs. 500.
