Three more women robbed

December 27, 2014 01:02 am | Updated 01:02 am IST - Bengaluru:

Even as the city police launched a special drive to curb chain-snatching incidents, three more cases were reported since Thursday while one man was caught within an hour after he robbed a woman in Kamakshipalya.

Contrary to police suspicion, he turned out to be a local and not a member of a gang from another State. Police have now ruled out the involvement of an organised gang in these three incidents and termed them ‘sporadic’.

A motorcycle-borne man snatched a gold chain from Chandrakala, a resident of Kamakshipalya on Thursday at around 9.45 p.m. She informed Kamakshipalya police who later arrested Muniraju in connection with the crime.

In another incident, two men snatched a gold chain from a homemaker, Sridevi, in HSR Layout on Thursday at around 9 p.m.

Two men on a motorcycle snatched the chain of Lakshmamma, a homemaker, in K.R. Puram on Friday.
