Three persons were killed in a road accident when their speeding car rammed into the barricades put up on Bangalore-Hosur highway near Neralur Gate on the outskirts of the city late on Saturday night.
Attibele police officials said that the dead men were part of a group of friends travelling in the car. At least two other occupants of the ill-fated car, who sustained injuries, were rushed to private hospitals for treatment, police said.
Meanwhile the deceased were taken to Victoria hospital for a post-mortem.
Pedestrian killed
In another incident, a 50 year old pedestrian was killed when an earth mover hit her accidentally on Sadahalli road in Devanahalli Airport police station limits on Saturday.
The body of the deceased Muniyamma, a resident of Sadahalli, was spotted by passersby following which the family was informed.
