Due to bad weather at Mangaluru, one flight was recalled to Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport, while two others were diverted, on Sunday afternoon.

Flight 9W815, operated by Jet Airways, between Bengaluru and Mangaluru which departed KIA around 3 p.m. and scheduled to land at Mangaluru airport at 4.10 p.m. had to be recalled because of bad weather and heavy rains. Another Jet Airways flight 9W431, between Bombay and Mangaluru, had to be diverted to KIA because of the same reasons. It was scheduled to land at 4 p.m.

An Air India Express flight IX 822 from Doha, which was scheduled to land at 4 p.m., landed at 5.30 p.m. at Mangaluru after being diverted to another airport, according to J.T. Radhakrishna, director of the airport. Both Jet Airways flights later landed at Mangaluru around 6 p.m.

State Food and Civil Supplies Minister U.T. Khader was onboard flight 9W815 which had to be recalled according to sources. “The flight recall happened because of inclement weather,” a Jet Airways spokesperson said.

The Meterological department has predicted medium to heavy rainfall in Mangaluru with isolated cases of heavy rainfall over the next few days.
