The HAL police today nabbed a gang of three chain-snatchers and recovered gold chains and mobile phones worth Rs. 13 lakh.

The accused have been identified as, Yunus (25), Afroz Khan (27) and Ikthiyar Pasha (29), who have been involved in 11 cases of robbery reported in HAL, Madiwala, Airport, Varthur, White Field, Koramangala, Tilak Nagar and Mico Layout police station limits.

The accused, disguised as auto drivers, targeted lonely women going for morning or evening walk and robbed them of valuables at knife-point.

One person managed to note down the autorickshaw registration number when the trio tried fleeing after robbing a gold chain from the person. This helped the police to zero in on them. The police have seized the autorickshaw and a motorcycle which were used to commit the offence.
