Three assaulted by co-worker

Three youths were allegedly assaulted by a co-worker at Indiranagar in the early hours of Monday. The three — Arivalagan, Syed and David Anthony, are working at a private hotel on 100ft Road in Indiranagar. Arivalagan reportedly had a fight with the co-worker, R. Gomes, on Sunday evening. He reported the matter to the hotel manager, following which Gomes was allegedly fired. After Arivalagan and Syed finished work, Gomes, along with a group of people, allegedly assaulted the duo with weapons near their home. Their friend David who was with them was also injured. In another case, on Sunday, a 28-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by his friend, who hit him on the head with a bottle. The victim, Augustin, and his friend Parthivan were in an inebriated state and had an argument during which Parthivan assaulted him.

According to the Bharatinagar police, a local politician had distributed some gifts in connection with the FIFA World Cup. Parthivan had allegedly kept the gifts for himself. The two friends reportedly fought over this, the police said.
