Several city-based schools have included theatre in the curriculum to help students understand social issues as well as their emotions. On the occasion of World Theatre Day, celebrated on March 27, experts agree that theatre is an effective tool. Jun Lawrence Espionsa, theatre instructor, Canadian International School, says classes begin with warm-up exercises, proceed to dramatic techniques and end with discussion and reflection.

Taliya of TRIO World School, says theatre serves as therapy. “It caters to various learners, can be incorporated in every subject and used to introduce, teach, recap or assess a lesson.” — Staff Reporter
