National Law School of India University, Bangalore, though a premier institution, is lacking in facilities such as auditoriums, and corporates should volunteer in providing these in the form of charity, said Governor H.R. Bhardwaj.
He was speaking at a function organised by the Lions Club International here on Monday.
Speaking about the decline of prominent educational institutions in the State, Mr. Bhardwaj said a revival of knowledge by restoring the pride of these institutions was important to make former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's dream of making India a superpower come true.
The Governor added that apart from organisations such as Lions Club, the rich and the powerful should “part with their money.”
Earlier, the new regime at the helm of affairs of Lions Club International District 324 D6 was unveiled.
The District Governor for 2010-11, S. Nagaraj Rao, compared the club to lighthouses, providing light to the needy.
The club's “One to One Million” programme worth Rs. 65 lakh was also inaugurated.
