Tension prevailed in Bidar district government hospital after a 22-year-old pregnant woman died.

Angry relatives blocked the front gate and stopped vehicles from entering the hospital.

Anita Rohan Kumar (22) of Sikenpur village in Bidar taluk was admitted to the hospital on 14 April. Her relatives told presspersons that doctors did not attend to her in time. “She was complaining of stomach pain

on Thursday night and no doctor came to see her, despite requesting the staff several times. The doctors did not respond to phone calls either,” her husband alleged.

Residents of Sikenpur village and her family members gave a memorandum to the district surgeon Shivakumar Shetkar seeking action against the doctor in-charge.
