Techies thrashed for trying to move dog

Two techies driving home from work were allegedly assaulted by four men when they tried to move a dog out of their path.

Trying to navigate a narrow bylane at Udaya Nagar in Mahadevapura, Animesh Das and Avishek Roy were forced to stop their car as the dog was blocking their path.

It was tied to a gate with a long leash. Animesh got down to shoo the dog away. The trouble started when the dog began barking.

According to a Facebook post, which has gone viral, the house owner rushed out shouting at the duo for troubling his dog.

A heated argument followed. Minutes later, the house owner allegedly attacked Animesh with an iron rod.

Avishek rushed to his friend’s rescue, but three others, including an autorickshaw driver, took the owner’s side and rained blows on the techies.

The duo sustained multiple injuries. They filed a complaint with the Mahadevapura police.

Abused

Recalling the incident, the duo alleged that they were kicked and battered till they collapsed. Besides, they alleged that they were verbally abused.

Based on their complaint, the police arrested the four attackers, who were later released on bail. The police did not reveal the names of the attackers.
