An IT professional hanged himself in his apartment in Ramamurthy Nagar early on Tuesday.

Police said Gopal Kumar (33), a senior testing engineer, committed suicide after his wife Geeta and their two-year-old daughter had gone to bed. The couple is said to have had an argument around 2 a.m. following which Geeta went to bed.

When Kumar did not come to bed for a while, Geeta got up to check on him and was shocked to find him hanging. Her screams brought in neighbours who called the police.

Police suspect that Kumar, a native of Tamil Nadu, was depressed. He had divorced his first wife with whom he had son, now seven. He married again three years ago due to alleged family pressure.

Pedestrian killed

K. Jagakamal (30), who was crossing Mysore Road Dubasipalya junction near R.V. College early Tuesday, died when a KSRTC bus hit him, Kengeri police said.
