A 35-year-old software engineer was found dead in his flat in Indiranagar on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Abhir Mukherjee, a native of Kolkata, who was working in the city from 2002. According to the police, Abhir had spoken to his friends on Sunday for long before disconnecting the call saying that he had to wake up early for office the next day.

When his sister called him on Monday, his phone was switched off. Assuming that he was busy at work, she called again at night. Sensing something amiss, she asked two of Abhir’s friends to check on him the next day.

When his friends came to the flat and looked through the window, they saw Abhir lying on the bed. They informed the police, who broke open the door and found him dead. The police said that the room was intact. The body was shifted to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem. The police suspect that he might have died of heart attack.
