Alex Korio and Irene Cheptai made it a Kenyan double at the TCS World 10K run, clocking 28:12 and 31:51 respectively at the TCS World 10k in Bengaluru on May 21. Among the Indians, Naveen Kumar and Saigeeta Naik crossed the tape first among men and women respectively with times of 30:56 and 36:01. The event saw registration from 23,700 athletes.

Irene Cheptai, the reigning women’s World cross country champion, made a memorable 10k road race international debut by winning the TCS World 10k. She was closely followed by Worknesh Degefa and Helah Kiprop.
Saigeeta Naik crossed the tape first among women with time of 36:01. Kiran Sahdev (right), and Preenu Yadav (left) came second and third respectively.
