SWR Bangalore gets Efficiency Shield

Bangalore Division of the South Western Railway bagged the overall Efficiency Shield of the zone. Divisional Railway Manager Akhil Agrawal received the shield from zonal General Manager Kuldeep Chaturvedi in Hubli on Friday.

The Commercial Shield was presented jointly to the Mysore and the Bangalore divisions on the occasion of the Railway Week celebration at the zonal headquarters in Hubli. Anup Dayanand, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mysore, and Pravin Pande, his counterpart in the Bangalore Division, received the shield.

Awards

Mr. Chaturvedi also distributed awards to eight officers and 156 staff for meritorious service while 19 shields were distributed to divisions for achieving excellence, said an official release.

Mr. Chaturvedi said that South Western Railway has introduced all the trains announced in the Railway Budget 2009. Rajdhani Express connecting Bangalore and Delhi which was hitherto running four days a week has been made daily.

There has been tremendous response for the first Duranto train between Howrah and Bangalore.
