Suspect gives police the slip

A minor boy, who was picked up after having been spotted acting suspiciously, slipped away from the grasp of the police by removing his shirt in Girinagar on Friday.

The boy was seen “moving suspiciously” on his scooter at Hosakerehalli, where police patrolling has been intensified in the wake of chain-snatching cases.

The police tried to stop him, but the boy gave them the slip for the first time.

A chase ensued, and the boy was caught when he entered a road with a dead end. The policemen frisked him, seized a mobile phone, and grabbed him by the collar to lead him towards the police station.

However, after walking for a few feet, the boy unbuttoned his shirt and ran away.

“We do not know whether he was involved in any offence, and he was only a suspect. However, he will be caught soon as we have seized his scooter and mobile phone,” a senior police officer said.
