Cauvery water will not be enough to meet the growing demand for water in Bangalore, said Bangalore Urban District in-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy at a workshop organised by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB).

The Minister said there was an urgent need to supplement the Cauvery water supply through rejuvenation of lakes, rainwater harvesting and reuse of waste water.

Mr. Reddy also pointed out that the water scarcity might get aggravated when BWSSB extended the supply of Cauvery water to newly added areas of the city. Therefore, there was a need to use recycled water as an alternative source of water, he added.
