Sudhakar Poojari, a mechanic who was stuck for over two days under a lift at the construction site of a nine-storeyed building at Kadubeesanahalli, near Marathahalli was discharged from a private hospital on Thursday. Hospital sources said his condition had improved from Wednesday. However, they said he was unable to recollect how he landed up under the shaft of the lift. “His condition is stable, but it would take time for full recovery,” said a source from the hospital.

Mahadevapura police, where a missing complaint was filed, said it was still unclear how Mr. Sudhakar got under the lift at the construction site. Meanwhile, his friend Santosh said that Mr. Sudhakar was discharged and was on his way to his hometown in Mangalore. “He is much better, but he is unable to speak as his head injury is causing him pain. He is not able to remember much as he is under mental stress.”
