September 26, 2013 12:26 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:07 pm IST - Bangalore:

The body of businessman B.N. Sudarshan (50), who was shot in the four-day siege on the Westgate shopping centre in Nairobi, Kenya, is expected to arrive here on Friday morning.

His relatives said they had contacted Indian embassy officials in Nairobi, who told them that the flight would leave Nairobi on Thursday evening. The body will be shifted to Bidadi from Bangalore for the funeral.

“Apart from family members, Sudarshan’s friends from Ghana are also expected to arrive for the funeral,” said Govinda Prasad, Sudarshan’s brother-in-law.

Sudarshan’s brother Ramprasad said the family members had been inconsolable. “People have been asking me questions about terrorism. But what can we say about it. My brother was shot and killed when he was not even at fault.”

At least 67 people have been confirmed killed in the mall siege that began on Saturday.

The group Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack.
