A Sudanese national studying BBM in a private college was thrashed by the residents of Hennur on Sunday night mistaking him for a thief.

The injured Pauli Alex was admitted to a private hospital in Banasawdi where he was undergoing treatment. This incident occurred in the backdrop of two students arrested recently after they set fire to motorcycles parked in an apartment in a bid to steal petrol.

On Sunday night residents noticed Alex moving suspiciously in the area, caught him and thrashed him badly before alerting the police. The police rushed to the spot and shifted Alex to a private hospital. The police have also taken up a case against the people who assaulted Alex.
