When much emphasis is being laid on propagating the Kannada language within the State, students from Goa and Tamil Nadu were felicitated with the ‘Kannada Madhyama Award’ by the Kannada Development Authority (KDA).

KDA Chairperson Mukhyamantri Chandru said that in the coming days, students learning Kannada from other places in the country would also be felicitated. About 600 students from here too would be presented the award.

Pampa award-winner Chandrashekhar Patil spoke about the need for the State government to implement the long-pending Sarojini Mahishi report that recommends a certain percentage of jobs to Kannadigas.
