Nervousness, excitement and pride – the first student nominees to BU’s academic council experienced all of it as they walked in to their first meeting on Friday.
They voiced their opinions and sat through the proceedings of the second most important decision-making body (after the syndicate).
“We learnt how the Local Inquiry Committees work,” said Raju M. Havannar, a B.Com student from VET First Grade College.
Vineeth Sham Bhat, LLM student of BU’s University Law College, said, “We are proud to be the pioneer members to the council and pledge to serve the best interest of the student community. I am duty bound to liaison with the university and the students to address issues and progress towards the motto of achieving academic excellence.” However, not all of them knew what to expect. Another student nominee said the meeting was not very interactive and the students did not know when to speak and on what topic.
