Student killed in freak accident in Peenya

A 21-year-old student died on the spot after he fell under the wheels of a water tanker in Peenya on Wednesday. The deceased, Prashanth, a final-year diploma student, had gone to his uncle’s house, where a water tanker had arrived to supply water. Prashanth was unfortunately crushed under its wheels when the tanker reversed. He was rushed to the hospital, but on arrival was declared dead. The driver is absconding. Peenya police have registered a case.

Knocked down

A 32-year-old woman died after a speeding car knocked her down near Singasandra on Tuesday morning. A resident of Bommanahalli, Munirathnamma was on her way home after a shopping trip and was crossing the Singasandra junction when the accident took place. She was rushed to Victoria Hospital where she was declared brought dead. The car driver himself took her to the hospital. The Electronics City traffic police registered a case and have seized the car.

Hit and run

A 55-year-old man was killed when a speeding motorcycle knocked him down in Kodichikkanahalli on Tuesday night. The victim, Nanjundaiah, a construction labourer, was returning home when he was hit.
