Student attacks classmate with axe in college

The victim had some time ago complained to authorities about alleged harassment

Fear and anxiety gripped students of RES Polytechnic in Kamakshipalya on Saturday morning after a final-year electrical engineering student attacked his 19-year-old classmate with an axe on the college campus. The victim had come to college to collect her examination admission ticket when her classmate, Yogesh, attacked her. The girl sustained injuries on her head, neck and hands. Bleeding profusely, she collapsed.

Yogesh tried to escape but was caught by other students with the help of the college staff. He was locked in a room till the Kamakshipalya police arrived.

Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to a nearby private hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

The attacker, Yogesh, is a final year student of RES Polytechnic in Kamakshipalya
