STPI announces awards

The Software Technology Parks of India on Thursday announced awards for exports, employment generation, women employment, differently abled manpower employment.

Companies that embarked into the ‘Billion Club’ category in terms of exports were given the ‘IT Pride of Karnataka’ award. Eighteen top IT/ITES companies and two electronics hardware units qualified for this. “These 18 IT/ITES companies contributed around 44 per cent of the software exports and 37 per cent of total employment in Karnataka,” an STPI statement said.

Awards for tier-II and tier-III regions were also announced. The winners were selected by a committee consisting of representatives from STPI-government of India, government of Karnataka, industry bodies such as IESA, and IIIT–Bengaluru.
