A storeroom of a garment unit on Commercial Street was gutted in a fire that broke out here on Sunday evening.
There were 20 employees working in the unit and they escaped to safety.
Six fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The fire was noticed by the employees who alerted the other staff.
Deputy Director of Fire and Emergency Services D.K. Hampagol said that a malfunction in the AC unit could have triggered the fire.
