The cold wave gripping the State has started to relent, with temperatures expected to approach normal over the next few days.

Having set in on January 10, northerly winds had reduced temperatures in north Karnataka and interior Western Ghats to record lows, said B. Puttanna, Director, Indian Meteorological Department, Bengaluru.

“The conditions have started to change now, and the cold wave is coming to an end. Over the next few days, minimum temperatures will increase by around 1 degree Celsius daily,” he said.
