One private candidate was debarred for reportedly indulging in malpractices during the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination on Wednesday.
The private candidate, who appeared for the examination at Bapuji High School in town, was found copying and he was debarred, said an official.
As many as 20944 students appeared for the examinations on first day in the district.
