Special team formed to crack gold theft case

The city police have formed three special teams to arrest three miscreants who allegedly robbed gold and diamond ornaments worth crores of rupees after attacking the owner of a jewellery-making shop on R.V. Road here on Wednesday night.

The gang attacked Rajesh near Lalbagh West Gate with iron rods and other weapons when he was going home after closing his shop around 10 p.m.

The robbery occurred in Basavanagudi police station limits.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar told reporters: “We have formed special teams to investigate all possible angles.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Rajesh is recovering in a hospital.
