Special drive to enrol young voters

The civic body has begun a special drive to enrol voters in the 18-21 age group. The drive ends on July 31. BBMP has tied up with the Education Department and is organising special camps in colleges. The BBMP estimates that there are around 27,500 voters in the age group.

Revenue officials and other block level officials have been directed to conduct a door-to-door survey.

Apart from this, records have revealed that at least 65,632 voters died between 2015 and June 2017. Their names will be removed from the voters’ list, BBMP Commissioner N. Manjunath Prasad said on Saturday.
